This session brings together endpoint, network, cloud and data security perspectives to explore how organisations can build layered defences that work together. We address EDR, next-generation firewalls, cloud workload protection, data discovery, classification and loss prevention, with particular focus on the risks introduced by generative AI adoption, the insider threat challenge, and the operational reality of tool proliferation and alert fatigue.

Alex Burnham, Head of IT Audit and Cyber Security, Forvis Mazars

Alex brings over 25 years of experience in information technology, cyber security, and IT audit. He is currently the Head of IT Audit and Security at Forvis Mazars Ireland, where he leads the delivery of IT audit and cyber security services across the country. With extensive experience managing high-security technical environments, Alex is known for delivering practical, business-focused solutions to the evolving challenges posed by today’s cyber threat landscape and increasingly complex regulatory requirements. In his current role, Alex plays a key part in supporting organisations with NIS2 readiness and implementation, as well as providing guidance on DORA and broader regulatory compliance.
